AN OIL FIELD WAS DISCOVERED OFF THE COAST OF THE SOUTH OF VIETNAM.

(Tuoi Tre - VN) – According to Talisman Energy Inc’s announcement yesterday, an oil field was discovered off the coast of the south of Vietnam by this group, near to Malaysia waters. It has name of Song Doc – 1X (block 46/02, far from Ca Mau Province 144 kilometers south-west). It is produced about 7,300 barrels of oil per day. However, its reserves is being determined by this group. Talisman said this is its first drilling well since it has been authorized to exploit one year ago.

DUNGQUAT: $US 1.5 AND MOREOVER!

By the end of 2002, when Zarubezhneft, a Russian partner of Petrovietnam, declared their official withdrawal from Dung Quat Refinery Project, Petro-Vietnam did hope to shortly complete the contract agreement with the main contractor (package No 01) in order to start up the construction of project to achieve the target of construction completion and first product by end of 2005.
