VINASHIN WON A LARGE ORDER OF 15 SHIPS FROM GRAIG, A BRITISH COMPANY

The ships have length of 190 meters, height to main deck of 18 meters, water-line over 12 meters, velocity over 14 nautical miles per hour, power of main engine of 9,480W, and hull made of high intensity steel. Those ships have been fitted up with all conveniences according to 24/24h automatic system, complying with marine latest international agreements.
According to the contract, Ha Long Shipyard, Quang Ninh and Nam Trieu Shipping Company, Hai Phong are assigned to assume responsibility for building those ships. The said build will be carried out under DNV’s supervision and approval, said the company’s general director, Mr Pham Thanh Binh.
Vinashin are planning to build more ships having high capacity for export to international market, Binh said. In 2004, Vinashin will expectably complete building the largest ship having 100,000-ton capacity in order to offer to foreign shipping companies.
