ALPHANDT INSTRUCTED TO OPERATE THE IRIS CRAWLER 10 RX

In order to satisfy strict requirements of Phu My – Ho Chi Minh Natural Gas Pipeline Project which applied the advanced Horizontal Drilling Direction (HDD) technology by contractor Nacap Asia Company (Malaysia), recently AlphaNDT has invested in purchasing advanced equipments and IRIS 10 CRAWLER (a product of IPSI – France) is one of those. IRIS 10 CRAWLER’s a kind of robot used to radiograph automatically and controlled by beforehand-setting program. This equipment will replace man in radiographic testing in special positions of system safely and high effectively (it can test from 20 to 30 welds on pipelines with diameter of 20” – 60”, increasing threefold in comparision with doing by man). As it’s a high-technology equipment, the start-up requires to be runned by manufacturer’s specialist. Accordingly, a course to train AlphaNDT’ senior technicians to operate the said equipment was conducted by IPSI’s specialist for five days at Vung Tau site.
The NDT provision for the Project is scheduled to be officially executed on the beginning of September, 2007.
