LOAD – OUT OPERATION OF THE SUB- STRUCTURE OF BUNGA TULIP - A

On 21 May, 2006, the load-out operation of the sub-structure of Bunga Tulip – A took place at PTSC Supply Base, Vung Tau City under management of the co-operation of PTSC M & C, a subordinate of Petrovietnam Technical Services Company (PTSC), the main contractor and Talisman Malaysia Energy Limited (TML), project conductor.
The structure which has height of 50 metres and weight of 920 tonnes is the one-pier structure fabricated by Vietnamese workers and engineers for the first time. On schedule Vietranstimex assumed responsibility of load – out operation. After that, PTSC P & S, another member of PTSC did its duty moving the structure off the coast to the overlapping area so that MC Dermot (USA) carried out the fixing in the sea.
As notified previously, Alpha NDT had the honour of contributing to this significant project with examination of the whole structure by RT, UT, MT and PT methods.
