ALPHA NDT TO PARTICIPATE IN PV GAS GPP & GDS TURNAROUND 2005 PROJECT

On 19 July, 2005 the contract to provide turnaround inspection service for GPP Dinh Co and GDS has officially signed by and between Mushtari Maintenance Service (Malaysia) and PV Gas (Viet Nam) after a strict and close tender.
The group of the above constructions is the major unit of the project to transport gas ashore being executed since 1996 and the main supply of gas for Phu My Power Plant, together with gas supply from Nam Con Son Gas Project managed by BP. Moreover, these constructions even bear another great significance, marking the foundation of the gas trading, processing and exploitation industry simultaneously operating in Viet Nam.
Towards the turnaround project, due to its deep social and financial significance PV Gas put it out to tender internationally. Whereas, the project with a huge volumn requires to be executed for a short time and in a high professional manner because any success or defeat of the work directly affects possibility of gas providing to power plants since these GPP and GDS are clue in receiving gas transported from offshore and processing prior to use. And Mushtari have been the successful tenderer for the said project, as officially announced by PV Gas at the beginning of this July.
In this project, Alpha NDT have been designated to be the sole supplier of Non-destructive Testing (NDT) service to Mushtari as well as being the first NDT supplier providing relevant service for significant turnaround mission for gas plant. NDT service provision with common methods, and also specialized NDT techniques such as RFT (Remote field testing), ET (Eddy current), Thermegraphy scanning, RVI (Remote visual inspection), ect has been Alpha NDT’s strength for recent years. In order to practise these techniques, Alpha NDT invested in modern specialized equipment purchasing such as RFT (RD TECH), RVI (Olympus), ect and associated these firms in conducting training courses on the above technique performance in accordance with ASNT code for Alpha NDT’s personnel. With investement focusing on modern equipments and advanced training for technicians, Alpha NDT have successfully acted as a sole and early organization providing specialized NDT techniques for turnaround mission for gas plant, power plant, chemical plant and other heavy industry plant. This’s also a great landmark marking significant grow-up of Alpha NDT on the way to become a supplier of high technology NDT methods in Viet Nam.
Meanwhile, Alpha ECC, another member of Alpha Group have been assigned to be Mushtari’s sole sub-contractor for the mission of providing required sources in Viet Nam for project execution.
