PCTC ELONGATION PROJECT

From June 28th, 2007, AlphaNDT is assigned to carry out the elongation project of ship - which owned by a Swedish Company named WALLENIOUS MARINE – at Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard. This is a kind of Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC), has the capacity of 14.841 tonnes, length of 199,1 metres, width of 32,26 metres. The ship’s speed is 20,6 knots, can carry 4.000 cars and is under classification of both DNV & VR. At HVS, this ship is elongated aiming to increase its capacity by to be prolonged 28 metres. To carry out this work, HVS have to divide the ship body in two and assemble a block newly fabricated which includes 12 floors and has length of 28 metres to the center of the ship body. AlphaNDT have been responsible for inspection for all welds and joints of the structure by using NDT methods (RT, UT, PT, MT).
