UTM AND CAP RATING FOR PETROLIMEX 01 OIL TANKER

In order to select the provider of UTM service for the Petrolimex 01, the shipowner, VITACO invited Alpha NDT to carry out the job for the said object due to requirements stated by DNV for CAP (Condition Assessement Program), CAS (Condition Assessement Survey), and Intermediate Survey. Petrolimex 01, a kind of oil tanker, was built in 1983 by the Korea Shipbuilding and Enginerring Corp and has its capacity of 22,651 tonnes and flag of Viet Nam. The work was executed at Nha Be river from July 28, 2006 substituting drafting for using scaffoldings as normally. Because of the huge work volume required to be carried out for a short time, Alpha NDT mobilized seven skilled technicians to work all day and night on board and highly appreciated from Owner and DNV for their performance.
After five days of execution, until now almost the work were completed and reports have been making by the technicians to submit to Owner and DNV. Alpha NDT also supported Owner to measure the steel work for repair in next docking at HVS on November 2006 as scheduled.
This is the second time Alpha NDT has chance to serve the Petrolimex 01 after the first in 2004 at SaiGon Port.
