On the basis of Vietnam Coal Corporation (the document No. 2906/TTr-ĐL dated July 15th, 2005), the relative Ministries’ comments and the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s assessable opinion (the document No. 131/BKH-QLĐT dated Sep 12th, 2005), an official document No. 1541/TTg-CN dated Oct 10th, 2005 has been enforced that the Prime Minister has accepted the result of assigning for the tendering package No.5, the Son Dong Thermal Power Plant at Bac Giang Province. Referring to the said document, the selected Main Contractors is Consortium of Shanghai Foreign Trade Corporation (China) + EPCI (England) + Shanghai Electric-Construction Company (China), the value of this project is US$ 173.180.000 which equivalent 2.763,243 billion Vietnam Dong, this is the kind of “cash on delivery” contract with a performance time is 33 months.
The Board of Directors of Vietnam Coal Corporation is assigned to response for examining, approving the content of the EPC tendering package No.5’s contract by the Prime Minister in order to make clear about each contractor’s responsibility, scope of work in the Consortium and Vietnamese sub-contractor’s responsibilities as well as to guide the execution of the Project coming after the current regulations.
